  • Saucepan
  • Plates

  1. Step 1

Prepare your chocolate fondue by heating ¾ cup of heavy cream in a saucepan. It should almost boil, but do let it actually come to a boil. Remove it form the heat and add in 12 ounces of chocolate chips. Stir the chocolate until melted. Add in 2 tablespoons of corn syrup (if you are using milk chocolate chips then omit the corn syrup). Mix well.

  2. Step 2

    Heat the fondue pot.

  3. Step 3

Pour chocolate in the fondue pot. Be careful to not splash the fondue outside of the pot.

  4. Step 4

Prepare items to be dipped by putting them on plates with skewers for dipping on the side. With chocolate you can choose any number of things, like cookies, cake, fruits or nuts.

  5. Step 5

    Serve your fondue.

Tips & Warnings
  • Avoid items that crumble as dippers. They will leave chunks and crumbs behind n the chocolate.
  • Make sure to have enough heat to last the party. Depending on how your fondue pot is heated you may need extra candles or cans of fuel.
  • Make sure to set up the fondue pot where it is easy for multiple people to access. Remember everyone will want to be dipping often.
  • You may want multiple fondue pots depending on how many guests you have. Four people to a pot will help control congestion.
  • Putting the fondue pot on a lazy susan will make it easier to access by all guests.
  • Use different types of chocolate chips. You can try semi-sweet, dark, milk or even white chocolate.
  • Serving fondue is usually best done in a buffet style. Set out the plates, skewers and dippers so everyone can choose what they would like.
  • Make up some other types of fondue for a real fondue party.
