How to naturally dye Easter Eggs

It is fun and easy to dye Easter eggs. This year do something different. Make your own natural dyes.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 dozen eggs
  • water
  • medium sauce pan
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric
  • 1 tablespoon Instant coffee
  • 2/3 cups boiling water
  • 1/4 teaspoon vinegar
  1. Step 1

    Boil water in medium sauce pan.

  2. Step 2

    For spring chicken yellow add turmeric to boiling water and stir until dissolved. For chocolate colored eggs add coffee to boiling water and stir until dissolved.

  3. Step 3

    Add vinegar.

  4. Step 4

    Simmer for 20 minutes.

  5. Step 5

    Wash egg shells with soapy water.

  6. Step 6

    Soak eggs in liquid until the desired color is reached.

Tips & Warnings
  • The more turmeric or coffee you add the darker the color. Also the longer the eggs soak the darker they will become. For darker eggs add more turmeric or coffee to water and soak longer.
