  • Paper/Pen
  • Magazine
  • Rubberband/Marker
  • Index/Poster/White paper
  1. Step 1

    To overcome a toxic habit you must be willing to pronounce and end this habit with all of the feelings and emotions that go with it. Get out a piece a paper and label it "My declaration" this declaration should be something that you can speak everyday for twenty-one days that will damage the specific habit. Experts say that to overcome something it takes twenty-one days.

  2. Step 2

    Get your favorite magazine and cut out a picture of a person you admire or someone who is doing something you would like to do. Cut out as many pictures and or articles to build up a motivational poster. This motivational piece can be done on either white paper, an index card, or a white poster board, as long as you can view it everyday. Get rid of the things that bring you to the old things of your personal habits. Please do this at once so that you are ahead of your toxic habit game.

  3. Step 3

    Speak to yourself about this toxic habit stay focused and be determined to change your life. Set goals to spend time in a hobby and or some type of replacement for this toxic habit. Also, get a white rubber band and use a marker to write your habit onto the rubber band(ex: I will overcome lying), and every time the temptation comes with the habit, pull the rubber band until the feeling goes away.

Tips & Warnings
  • Stay determined twenty one days and you shall overcome
  • Get the mindset of someone else who is already doing something
  • Speak to yourself constantly about your changing and reposition in your life
  • If you fall back, try over again and speak over your declaration.
