This recipe is tastier than buying and preparing prepackaged hamburger helper.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 onion
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 1 box macaroni & cheese (or mini shells and cheese)
  • shredded cheddar cheese
  • ground black pepper

Step1
Brown beef with onion (sliced or chopped the way you like) and ground black pepper in skillet or wok. Then add diced tomatoes.
Step2
Cook macaroni and cheese according to box directions. Transfer macaroni and cheese to beef skillet and mix all ingredients thoroughly.
Step3
Add shredded cheddar cheese and additional pepper if desired, and mix together. Let simmer a while.
Step4
Add additional shredded cheddar cheese before serving if desired.

Tips & Warnings

  • A green vegetable works well as a side dish for this hearty meal.
  • For an even heartier meal, experiment by adding additional sliced or chopped cooked vegetables to the skillet, such as sliced celery, sliced carrots, diced potatoes, and more.
