1. Tell him you need his help--don't ask him. If you ask him, it makes him think he has an option with helping you. He doesn't.

2. Make a list of his responsibilities. This will clarify what you need him to do. Remember to include the dates of when you expect these duties to be completed. Then tell him to get started.

3. Let him know you want his help and input. If you convey to him the idea that his input is important for making the day special for both of you, chances are he won't argue with that. Plus, it will make him feel important.

4. Show him how much you have on your plate. Then show him how he can lighten your load by helping you out. A guy that loves you will be ready to jump in and lend a helping hand.
