Most grooms drag their feet at the thought of having to help out their bride with wedding details. But the fact is, most brides need a bit of help and would enjoy some input from the groom. Getting him to help shouldn't be like pulling teeth. Here's how to make it easy.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • A specific list of duties for him to handle

Step1
Tell him you need his help--don't ask him. If you ask him, it makes him think he has an option with helping you. He doesn't.
Step2
Make a list of his responsibilities. This will clarify what you need him to do. Remember to include the dates of when you expect these duties to be completed. Then tell him to get started.
Step3
Let him know you want his help and input. If you convey to him the idea that his input is important for making the day special for both of you, chances are he won't argue with that. Plus, it will make him feel important.
Step4
Show him how much you have on your plate. Then show him how he can lighten your load by helping you out. A guy that loves you will be ready to jump in and lend a helping hand.

Tips & Warnings

  • Don't let him take control of the planning. Keep track of the things he does and make sure he knows that ultimately, you have the final say in things.
