Things You'll Need:
- Self control
- Patience
- Possible anger management courses
-
Step 1
Slow down. Tailgating never truly helped anyone. Neither did breaking the speed limit and getting pulled over. Step on the brakes, relax and spare us all from your overly aggressive driving. If you're late, you should have left earlier and it's nobody's fault but your own.
-
Step 2
Stop screaming. Nobody's going to hear you anyway, so it really doesn't help anything but raise your blood pressure. Plus, you're pretty ugly when you scream and...nobody wants to see that.
-
Step 3
Take a deep breath. Good air in, bad air out. Put the situation into perspective. This isn't a matter of life or death. Don't let it become that
because you can't calm down. -
Step 4
Realize the other drivers are actual people. Yes, actual living,
breathing, honest-to-goodness people who want to get to their destinations
on-time and in one piece, just like you. -
Step 5
Follow the Golden Rule: "Do unto others as you would have them do
unto you." If you don't want someone cutting you off, tailgating you, honking at you or flipping you off, don't do it to them. There's a lot to be said about courteous driving.
