How to Draw Aliens
Aliens are fascinating to people young and old. Whether they are the classic "Grays" or the terrifying Xenomorphs, there are looks and designs for aliens big and small, cute and horrid. If you love to draw then why not create your own aliens? You could let your imagination run wild and draw something completely unique or you could use actual scientific evidence to draw something that might logically exist somewhere.

1
Start with the basic wire frame for the aliens you wish to design. Typically you'd want to start with the head (a simple circle or an ellipse), and then draw just the structure the body, arms and legs. When you're done it should really just look like an elaborate stick figure.
-
2
Position facial features. The eyes, nose (or noses), ears and any other details should be added at this point. Note how you want the alien to face. Do you want it to be looking up to the sky or off to its left? You'll want to arrange your facial features according to its facing.

3
Complete the rest of the body of the alien. Give it arms, legs, tails, wings, ridges and anything else you can think of. Again, remember how you have the head and body oriented, and make the design match those positions. Objects that give the illusion of being closer to the viewer should be larger than those that are farther away.

4
Add more complex details to the body of the alien. Add scales if you want an alien lizard, or make it's skin striped and furry if you're creating a mammal-like being.
-
5
Color your alien. This is another place where you can really let your imagination run wild! Give your alien blue stripes and bright red eyes if you want--the sky's the limit!

Tips & Warnings
Read scientific journals or books related to the science of life on other planets. You can then incorporate the knowledge of what other worlds might look like into your designs. Aliens living on a world with a thinner atmosphere would have a huge nose, for example, while one living on a high gravity world would likely be very stout.
Avoid drawing copyrighted designs if you're interested in selling your designs for aliens. Grays are a common design and not copyrighted, but something along the lines of Jabba the Hutt would be treading into the danger zone. Your best bet is to just create your own designs from scratch and use those when you want to make some money.
