Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Visit your state's GOP website for information about contacting your local Republican party. Most sites also provide a list of Republican auxiliary groups and clubs in your state, along with URLs and contact information for each.
Step2
Visit the GOP's national website for a list of Republican support groups serving different ages, genders and ethnicities (see Resources below). Click on the "Groups" link at the top of the page for a drop-down menu.
Step3
Isolate the Republican issues that are most important to you, and search for a corresponding support group. If you believe the media is too liberal, visit FairPress.org to join others who agree (see Resources below). If supporting the war in Iraq is your primary goal, join the Iraq War Veterans Organization (see Resources below). Christian Republicans can join the Christian Coalition of America, a faith-based political organization with socially conservative viewpoints (see Resources below). There are thousands of local and national groups supporting Republican views, and most of them are free to join.
Step4
Go to the Citizens for Responsible Government website if you're looking for a fiscally conservative support group (see Resources below). The site allows you to search affiliate groups by state, along with providing lists of contact information and websites for these groups.
Step5
Check out FreeRepublic.com, a website for grassroots conservative efforts (see Resources below). While the site maintains that it does not promote straight-ticket Republican voting, it offers a list of conservative alliances and groups, along with forums for discussing conservative issues.
Step6
Give to the cause. Many Republican groups are funded solely by members, so making a one-time or recurring donation is a good way to support group efforts.
Step7
Spread the word about Republican group membership to combat wide-spread political apathy. Recruit others to join your cause by displaying your Republican group's bumper sticker, using an email tag-line that includes your group's name, or inviting friends and family to attend a conference or rally with you.
