People who desire improved eyesight, without the medical risks and financial implications of surgery, should consider natural remedies through food, vitamins and herbal supplements. Blueberries have been known to help improve eyesight and slow aging. Mixing blueberries with healthy teas can offer dramatic results that improve not only your eyesight, but also your overall health.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Dried blueberry leaves
  • Green or black tea (caffeinated or decaffeinated)
  • Fresh blueberries
  • Ready-made blueberry tea bags
  • Milk or cream
  • Sugar
  • Honey
  • Flavored syrup
  • Other fruits, such as pomegranates, cherries or blackberries
  1. Step 1

Drink blueberry tea daily to benefit from the powerful antioxidants found in the tea. Blueberries are thought to have one of the highest concentrations of antioxidants found in any fruit.

  2. Step 2

Use dried blueberry leaves in your green or black tea. The leaves should be added to the tea prior to pouring in boiling water. Steep, strain and serve the tea hot or over ice.

  3. Step 3

Use fresh blueberries in your green or black tea for a unique beverage with the same effect as blueberry leaves. Consider organic blueberries, grown without the use of pesticides or other harmful chemicals.

  4. Step 4

Purchase ready-made blueberry tea bags for brewing tea when away from home or when you may not have the time to create a homemade brew. Bags may not offer as many antioxidants as you can get by making your own brew, but they offer a convenient way to benefit from the health properties found in blueberry tea.

  5. Step 5

Add variety to a daily intake of blueberry tea by trying cream or milk for a frothy treat. You may want to use sugar, honey or flavored syrup to sweeten and improve the drink. This helps counteract the bitterness that some people taste when drinking blueberry tea.

  6. Step 6

Create your own fruit tea mixture by adding other fruit, such as pomegranate, cherry or blackberry.

  7. Step 7

Look for decaffeinated blueberry tea bags or make your own mixture with decaffeinated teas if you want to avoid the effects of caffeine.

Tips & Warnings
  • Blueberry tea is also used as a blood purifier and tonic.
  • Purchase tea and read reviews on blueberry tea at Adagio Teas (see Resources below).
  • Store tea leaves in an airtight container to preserve flavor.
