How to Use a Reiki Candle

Even though Reiki can be done simply by using the available energy in a room, some Reiki practitioners may want to generate some more Reiki energy for their clients' benefit. Some practitioners use Reiki candles in order to generate that energy.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Purchase a candle that will best represent the ambiance of Reiki. A good Reiki candle will have a soft color, and enhance the sense of rest and tranquility that the Reiki treatment room gives the client. A Reiki candle made of organic wax and scented are both good options, but neither is truly necessary when selecting a good Reiki candle.

  2. Step 2

Light the Reiki candle when giving a Reiki treatment. Burning the candle releases Reiki energy into the air, and allows the Reiki practitioner to use that energy to further infuse the client, thus giving their body's natural healing drive a boost and providing better results all around. If the Reiki candle is scented, it can also provide some aromatherapy to the client in addition to the Reiki healing.

  3. Step 3

Direct the universal life energy given off by the Reiki candle into the client. Use Reiki hand positions to infuse the client's specific chakra, determining which parts of the client need the most help. Take extra time to infuse specific parts of the client with Reiki as needed.

  4. Step 4

Recharge a Reiki candle once it has been used. This is as simple as placing your hands on the remnant of the candle and infusing it with Reiki energy. Making a Reiki candle ready to use again directly relates to the fourth principle of Reiki--that of living in harmony with the environment.

  5. Step 5

Create another Reiki candle by infusing another candle with Reiki energy. Take the regular candle in both hands, and concentrate on putting Reiki energy into it. Any type of candle can be made into a Reiki candle, or they can be purchased online (see Resources below).

Tips & Warnings
  • Even though using a Reiki candle will release Reiki energy into the area, a Reiki practitioner must still direct that energy to the spots on her client where it will do the most good. An inexperienced Reiki practitioner will just have excess Reiki energy in the treatment area, which is not a serious problem, but it is not fulfilling its intended purpose.
