How to Play Carrom Online

The World Wide Web has not established a true online carrom game, but there is one that is close. There is a free version of carrom called Couronne. Developed by MiniClip, the board is the same as a carrom board, but the pieces are green and the striker is yellow. The objective is to sink all of the green pieces to move up in the levels.

Instructions

    • 1

Use your pointing device (your mouse or touchpad) to drag your striker. The striker will be transparent off the baseline and solid when you are on it.

    • 2

Click (left-click on a PC) and hold your pointer once you have positioned your striker. An interactive cue stick will appear once clicked.

    • 3

Position your cue stick in the direction of the piece you want to sink. Make sure you are still holding down the left-click button while you are aiming.

    • 4

Pull the cue stick back by holding down the left-click button and dragging the pointer toward you.

    • 5

Release the left-click button to shoot the striker. The further back you pull the cue stick, the harder you hit the striker.

    • 6

Notice how many turns you have to sink all of the green pieces. At the start of the game, you are given 3 turns to clear the green pieces. 1 turn will be taken away for every shot that does not sink a green piece. The number of turns left is indicated by green pieces on the screen.

    • 7

Clear all of the green carrom pieces off the board. Once you have cleaned them all up, you will move on to the next level.

Join a group in the left-hand column. Once selected, a list of players will appear in the right-hand column.

    • 11

Challenge a player in the group by clicking on a user, or wait until a user challenges you.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you sink more than 1 green piece in 1 shot, you will be rewarded with an extra turn.

  • Do not sink the striker. You will be penalized a turn and another green piece will be added to the board.

  • Do not sink any red pieces. After the first level, a few red pieces will be scattered around the board. If you sink a red piece, you will lose a turn, even if you sank a green piece in the same shot.
