Step 1
Ask friends who had slideshows at their weddings to loan you a copy of their slideshow. Most people keep their wedding slideshows as treasured mementos. If they don't want to give you the DVD, ask if you can stop by and watch it at their house.
-
Step 2
Use a comprehensive database like the one found on the National Associate of Professional Wedding Videographers (NAPWV) to locate videographers in your area who offer slideshow services (see Resources below). Many videographers in the database have websites where you can view samples of slideshows, but you can also contact these individuals and request email or hard copy samples of their work.
-
Step 3
Locate a company online, such as DVDPhotographs.com or Picture Perfect Slideshows, that specializes in creating picture slideshows for special events like weddings, anniversaries and birthday parties (see Resources below). While using a local company may be convenient, the Internet gives you access to videography companies nationwide, many of which offer extremely competitive pricing for superior work.
-
Step 4
Attend a bridal exposition in your area to locate samples of wedding slideshows. Most large-scale expos have videography booths set up where future brides can view samples and obtain pricing information from companies across the country. The Great Bridal Expo, which is one of the biggest expositions in the country, has upcoming tour information on its website (see Resources below).
-
Step 5
Note what you like and don't like about each of the sample wedding slideshows you watch. This can help you create your own slideshow or choose a company to create one for you.
