A bachelorette party is a time for the girls to get together and let loose one last time before the bride-to-be rides off into the sunset of married life. It's common for women with a playful, adventurous side to hire a male stripper for the occasion. To get the most out of your bachelorette party, keep some common-sense tips in mind as you search for a male stripper to hire.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Consider whether hiring a male stripper is appropriate. Someone who is a very close friend of the bride-to-be should be doing the party planning, and if there's an iota of doubt as to whether or not the guest of honor would feel comfortable in the company of a male stripper, err on the side of caution and plan something else. Apply the same line of reasoning to the women who will be guests at the party. Remember that there may be older family members in attendance. The last thing you want is aghast, flustered women hurrying out of the party in a huff.

  2. Step 2

Ask the bride-to-be whether she has any preferences for the male stripper. It's an opportunity for her to indulge her fantasy life one last time! Some women have a particular penchant for firemen, policemen, soldiers, certain ethnicities...the list goes on. If you'd rather surprise her, get together with the bachelorette's other close friends and come to a consensus as to what she'd enjoy the most.

  3. Step 3

Find a reputable company that employs male stripper, such as USAHunk.com (see Resources below). You can tell a reputable company from a fringe company by the availability of the performers. Reputable companies always give you a choice of at least a half-dozen different male strippers and have tightly packed schedules. If a company has no scheduling backlog or tries to force a particular performer on you rather than allowing you to choose one, shop somewhere else.

  4. Step 4

Ask each company you're considering for a website address where you can view pictures of the performers in advance of hiring one. Again, hire a male stripper from another business if a certain company doesn't maintain an online presence.

  5. Step 5

Avoid hiring a male stripper who charges by the hour. Legit male strippers charge a flat fee for a performance, and don't keep close track of the time. Expect to pay between $100 and $200 or more for a male stripper, depending on the region of the country in which you live. Rates are higher around major urban centers.

  6. Step 6

Expect to pay a deposit of up to 50 percent of the cost of the performance up-front. Most companies will let you do this over the telephone or Internet using a credit card or check card. Get a transaction confirmation number or a receipt.

  7. Step 7

Anticipate that the stripper will come prepared with his own music, outfit and routine. You won't be asked to provide CDs by any reputable performer. Enjoy, and behave yourself...or don't.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you and your party are armed with stacks of dollar bills and tip the male stripper as he performs, he's likely to perform longer and really give you your money's worth.
  • Leave the cameras in their cases. Not only will some male strippers refuse to perform if pictures are being taken, snapshots of the event could cause undue strife in the lives of the bachelorette party participants.

on 8/24/2008 Pictures are the best part. Ask - perhaps ahead of time - and shoot away. You came to see a naked guy passed around among the girls. You'll be glad you did. Digital only.
