Step 1
Ask your relatives for a look at their wedding albums. Parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles all are likely to have their wedding album stored away somewhere and would love to take it out and show it to you. You can also ask married friends for a look at their albums, which gives you a good sense of possible samples to choose from.
-
Step 2
Consult the photographer at your wedding. Many times, the photographer offers to assemble the album as part of his services and will have samples for you to browse through. His input is particularly valuable because he has a sense of what the photos will look like, and what kinds of albums will fit your theme best.

Step 3
Check online home pages of professional photographers. There are dozens in every geographical locale and many have samples of wedding albums available to look at. They needn't be photographers you intend to hire or even photographers near you. They only need to have samples of the binding and layout to give you a good idea of your options.
-
Step 4
Visit stationary stores and scrapbooking clubs in your area. They should have good samples of album types and paper stock for you to peruse. They can also advise you on the kind of albums which will work best for the look you want, and help you locate the right one to fit your décor.

Step 5
Examine bindings, spine quality, board and paper stock directly before buying a wedding album. This is especially important if you order it online: you not only want to locate an album that you like the look of, but one with binding and other elements that fit what you want. This may have nothing to do with the quality of the book. It may be very well constructed, but the feel of the paper and the look of it in front of you may still not fit what you have in mind.
