Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Things You’ll Need:
- Positive thinking.
- A lot of determination.
Step1
Determine the role of alcohol in your life. You are the only person who can decide that you should be quitting it or not. In short, making up the mind is the first and foremost thing.
Step2
The difficulty of this process lies on your decision because if you allocate a higher position to alcohol in your daily life, the harder the task becomes for you. So the second step is to think again on your decision.
Step3
After you have made your mind, start working on the decision at that particular instant. Because there should be no way back once you have made your mind.
Step4
Decide a specific "alcohol-free" time period, which should be of 1-2 months. Because you can not decide to quit it for the whole life at once. The time period will be extended as you proceed.
Step5
During your "alcohol-free" period, tell all your friends and family about your decision. It will give more motivation and a sense of accountability. Your friends may also avoid to ask you to drink with them.
Step6
Reward yourself after you achieve each of your "alcohol-free" time period. This will keep you moving. The reward may be the thing you like to do most, or else, it depends on you.
Step7
Always try to grab maximum material regarding the harms of alcohol, it will keep you firm and will strengthen your will and determination.
