Cleaning windows isn't a fun job, but it can be done effectively with simple household items. Not only does this method allow you save you a trip to the store, but helps get rid of the extra newspapers you might have laying around!

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Newspaper
  • Distilled White Vinegar or Lemon Juice
  • Spray bottle
  • Rubber Gloves (optional)

How to Use Vinegar and Newspaper to Clean Windows

Step1
Put on rubber gloves. You don't have to do this, but it will get messy.
Step2
Take a single sheet of newspaper and crumple it in your hand well. You want to try to make the paper as soft as you can without ripping it. This will make it easier to handle and spread the ink out a bit. It's said the ink is what makes newspaper work well on windows.
Step3
In a spray bottle, mix one half vinegar and one half water. If you choose lemon juice, use 1/4 lemon juice and 3/4 water. Shake well.
Step4
Spray window or other glass surface with vinegar or lemon juice solution.
Step5
With a circular motion, use the newspaper to clean the window. Put some muscle behind it to really work out dirt and streaks.
