Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • knowledge or a subject area
  • research on a subject area
  • an interesting topic
  • a computer
  • good writing skills
  • illustrations, photos, or videos
  1. Step 1

The first step to writing an article for EHow is to think about something you really know how to do well, or something you think may interest others. Something you feel others may want to learn how to do. This can be anything from a recipe for cooking a certain dessert, to how to wash a car.

  2. Step 2

Next, if it is something you want to write about how to do, but you have not done it, be sure to do some research first. Find out what steps are involved in the process so you will easily be able to explain it to others.

  3. Step 3

Be sure to indicate the level of readability. Is difficult, moderately easy, or easy? Will the reader have trouble understanding your steps in the process? Making it simple and in layman's terms is probably the best route to go to draw more readers in.

  4. Step 4

Adding photos, illustrations, or videos will draw more attention to your article. Also, be sure to add keywords where indicated. These keywords should have to do with your article, and is also a good way of getting more people to read it. If you join Ehow's writer compensation program, then you can earn cash for writing articles. You won't get paid a certain rate per article, but you will get paid based upon the popularity of your article, which is determined by how many people read it, and whether or not it is useful to the population. You can keep track of how many people view your articles by viewing this information under "My Profile."

  5. Step 5

The more articles you write, the better your potential for networking with other members who may or may not have similar interests, and the more chance you have for earning more money per article. Be sure to write each step of the process of how to do that particular subject, and add tips or warnings for people at the end of your articles.

  6. Step 6

You can check the list on the website of the most requested articles. You may want to write one of these, which will draw more people to read your articles since these are topics people are looking to know how to do, and what they are asking for.

  7. Step 7

Whatever you decide, writing for EHow will be a pleasant experience, and you will definitely get to meet a lot of new people, and learn a lot of different things. Hey ...I never know how to "hunt a mammoth in 10,000 BC" until I joined EHow!!!!
