The site recommends adding photos to your eHow article to attract more viewers. Don't add just any old thing. Try to take photos that are really pertinent to your topic. Here are some tips to get better photos for your eHow articles.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • digital camera
  • photo editing program like Adobe Photoshop Album Starter
  1. Step 1
    Recognizable as books and bookends.

Remember that the photos appear fairly small on the screen, so very detailed photos don't show well. Try to use photos with large, easily viewed objects.

  2. Step 2
The counter provides a plain background.

Use good lighting when photographing an object. It doesn't require an elaborate lighting set-up. I use my kitchen counter with the overhead light on and the under counter light on.

  3. Step 3

Take advantage of your camera's special features. Most digital cameras have a macro mode to take better close-up photos. This usually is shown as a flower icon.

  4. Step 4

To take photos of internet screens, you can use your camera's action mode. The icon on my Cannon PowerShot shows this as a child with a dog. Check your manual to find what modes your camera has and what icons identify them. The action mode somewhat stabilizes the flutter that computer screens have.
An alternate way is to print out the webpage you want, then scan it into your computer.
You can also use the PRINT SCREEN button on your computer. See the link below for instructions on that.

  5. Step 5

Use a photo editing program to crop your photos and to enhance them by adjusting the contrast or color. Cropping allows removal of distracting elements. Adobe Photoshop Album Starter is a free download and gives quite a bit of photo editing capability. Another free program is HP Photosmart Essential.

  6. Step 6

Adding several photo images at once sometimes overloads the PUBLISH ARTICLE function. I have better luck adding one image, then returning to the article in EDIT mode to add another one.
Usually I publish the article without any photos, so I get the text locked in. Then I return to it in edit mode to add the photos.
