Homemade Easter Baskets are a fun treat to make for special people.

In less than an hour you can have a special treat. Making candy can be fun and easy, and economical. It also says that you really care.

You can make these for Pastors, Sunday School teachers, Aunts, Grandmas, teachers.

Almost everyone loves chocolate!!! Especially at Easter.

Time spent:
45 minutes to make candy
15 minutes to assemble tin and insert candy

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Chocolate candy melts
  • Molds
  • Lollipop sticks
  • Lollipop Bags
  • Curling Ribbon
  • Decorative Tin
  • Styrofoam
  • Easter Grass
  • Above items should be available at local craft store
  1. Step 1

    MAKE YOUR OWN CHOCOLATE CANDY
Place chocolate melts in microwave, melt at 40 second intervals

Let chocolate cool back down (temper)

Pour into molds, roll lollipop stick back and forth until covered. Make sure there are no bubbles by lifting mold and checking. Also, do not fill too full.

Place in freezer for 12 minutes, OR refrigerator for 35 minutes.

Remove candy from freezer/fridge. Let items cool down, preferably to room temperature.

  2. Step 2

    PREPARE A DECORATIVE TIN

Cut styrofoam at slight angle. Must fit in tightly, or else candy will flip.
    Fill in with Easter Grass.

Once candy cools down, place in bags and tie up with curling ribbon. Stick lollipops evenly through styrofoam.

You can pick out a tin that your recipient will really enjoy, or you can use traditional Easter chicks and bunnies.

  3. Step 3

Share your Easter basket with someone special.

You can also add chocolate covered Peeps.

Tips & Warnings
  • Michaels or AC Moore is a wonderful place to start your candy making hobby.
  • Chocolate is harmful to dogs.
