Email can increase website traffic. Email can increase website traffic.

Several methods exist for using email to generate traffic for your website or blog. These two methods are very easy to implement and can produce an abundance of new visitors with little effort.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Website, blog, or affiliate landing page.
  • Email account.

Step1
Signature lines. Place a small blurb about your site or blog along with a clickable link in your signature line. Save this as your default signature line and every time you send an email you have the chance of getting a free targeted visitor. In fact, if your email gets forwarded, you could receive dozens of visitors.
Step2
Viral jokes and videos. Each time you receive a joke, video, or picture in your inbox think about where it has been. These emails have the potential to be seen by thousands if not millions of people. Just imagine the possibilities if your link was also seen by that many potential visitors. The next time you are about to forward one of these on to friends or coworkers, consider putting your clickable link in the body of the message. Delete all the unnecessary information first to reduce the clutter. Place your link once or twice or as many times as you feel is needed. As an example, I received a card trick email last week. The trick consisted of 6 pictures that you scrolled through as you read the message. Before I sent this on, I placed a link to my blog between each image.
Step3
Send more emails. The next time you are considering instant messaging versus email, choose email.

Tips & Warnings

  • Be persistent. Add your link anytime you forward an email.
  • Be creative. Find ways to draw attention to your links.
  • Never spam to increase your traffic. It's annoying and, in some cases, against the law.
