Change the look of your Blogger blog by using a new layout, adding a music playlist, and other widgets such as the calendar. Adding widgets will help you to personalize your blog and your readers will get to know you better.

Instructions

      Search the Internet for a new layout for your blog. A quick search on Google will bring up dozens of results. Save the layout template to your desktop. Log in to your Blogger account.

      Click on the layout tab. Click on "edit html." Click on download "Full Template" to make a backup of your blog so you don't lose anything.

      Click the browse button and find the template you saved to your desktop to upload it to your blog. If you are asked about deleting widgets, click "Confirm" and "Save."

      Add a music playlist by going to "Layouts" and "Page Elements." Click on "Add page element." Click to add HTML element; put the music on the side or add it to the bottom of the page. If you put it on the side, make the width of the player 250 pixels in the code.

      Add calendars, clocks, countdowns, banners, traffic counters the same way you did the music.

      View the blog to make sure everything is how you like it. Move the page elements up and down to make it more personal and fun.

    I'm trying to add a music playlist to my blog. When I go to Gadgets and select html/javascript, it opens up but the content window says read-only and I cannot paste my playlist code into it. What am I doing wrong?
