Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Do not always play it safe. It can sometimes backfire. Remember that taking risks does not mean that you are opening yourself up to unnecessary chances. Sometimes taking a risk at work can mean audacity, and it means that you will progress.
Step2
Do not be scared of failing. Failure is usually not as bad as it seems. Most successful people you meet will have overcome failure at one point in their lives.
Step3
Make sure you dress the part. When you are looking sharp, and are well groomed, people will see you differently. You have to look like you belong where you are. It is not nice or correct, but people will judge you based on how you look as well. So maybe you are terrific at what you do, but people will think less of your work based on your looks.
Step4
Do not surprise your boss. If you have something bad to say, just say it as soon as you know it. Never diminish/ omit the truth. Same goes with the good news, if you have it, share it.
Step5
Do not be afraid to ask questions if you do not know something. Asking does not show ignorance, it actually shows that you know enough to be able to ask a question about something. Also, it shows that you are interested in learning.
Step6
The best way to earn your boss' respect and gratitude is by helping them look good. Offer to help on projects, if you see your boss is struggling with something, go ahead and give them a hand.
