Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Imagination
  • Sensitivity
  • An open heart
  • A smile
  1. Step 1

Surround your family with optimism and optimistic attitudes. Look for the silver lining. Spread good vibes and uplifting thoughts.

  2. Step 2

Refrain from criticizing or critiquing your family in public. Don't participate in gossiping about each other. Unless, of course, you are spreading heavenly gossip.

  3. Step 3

Never, ever allow family put downs. We all have enough put downs from strangers, we don't need that from family too.

  4. Step 4

Always be available when your family needs you. Tell them, "I'm here for you."

  5. Step 5

Look for your family’s hidden talents and freely pass out compliments and praise.

  6. Step 6

Hold a family picnic and have a watermelon spitting contest.

  7. Step 7

    Keep your promises.

  8. Step 8

Be really interested in what your family members are doing, thinking, feeling. Ask them about their dreams and longings. Say, "I believe in you."

  9. Step 9

On birthdays write a letter about how much you admire each special quality. Tell your family members how much you enjoy their quirky ways. Laugh about your own quirky ways.

  10. Step 10

Practice what you preach. If you give out advice, follow it too.
