How to restart your network device

You will be able to restart your network connection.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer
  • Network connection
  1. Step 1

    On the terminal type: su -

  2. Step 2

    After you type this, you will have to enter in your password.

  3. Step 3

    Now type the following: /sbin/ifconfig *device_name* down

  4. Step 4

    The device name will usually be eth0. It can also be eth1 or eth2 depending on how many network devices you have.

Tips & Warnings
  • Your network connection will be disabled for a few seconds.
