Things You'll Need:
- Your brain and ability to think and create
-
Step 1
1. Intend on communicating with the person or audiences deeper mind. Just the effort to look the other person(s) in the eye and to purposely intend to speak on a deeper level with them, will greatly enhance your chances of doing so. Get completely in touch with the person by your own concentration and focus. Allow the conscious thought that you are going to indeed communicate to them on a subconscious level.
-
Step 2
Use metaphors. When you are attempting to communicate a certain point or truth, you should be giving examples. You might find yourself saying something like, "this is like.......", and then you give a specific example. This will make you think deeper about the point that you desire to make, thus finding greater illustration to make your point. Remember, facts tell, metaphors sell. If you really want your listener to 'buy into' your message, you are going to need to use metaphors and examples. The more creative you become in using and creating metaphors, the better communicator you'll become, both one on one and before an audience if the occasion arises.
-
Step 3
Tell stories. This is the best way to come up with metaphors. Tell stories. Stories are metaphors of things that really did happen. If the story is a personal story, it will be far more effective and powerful with your listener(s). Get good at telling stories. The person(s) you are communicating with will find you interesting if you tell stories. You won't be boring.

Step 4
Practice using words that are visual, auditorial and kinesthetic. Visual words are words used in phrases like, 'can you SEE what I'm saying?' 'Are you getting the picture here?' 'Can you visualize....'? Balance visual words with auditorial. 'Do you hear what I'm saying?' 'Doesn't this resonate with you?' 'Does this sound right to you?' 'Are you catching my vibe?' (This last one can be a kinesthetic word as well). Then you need to balance it further with 'feeling' type words (kinesthetic words). 'Are you getting a SENSE of what I'm saying?' 'Do you feel what I'm saying?' 'Doesn't that feel right?'
