Set aside time daily for a few weeks or just commit to a weekend to start clearing the clutter. Start slow and try not to get over whelmed.
Step2
If your family has not used an item within the last year, you do not need it. Get rid of stuff you do not need by giving it to charity. You will get a tax write off and not have stuff around your house waiting on you to have a yard sale.
Step3
If someone's stuff is at your house give it back to them. If they do not take it, do not keep it for them. Give it to charity and give them a receipt for them to use during their taxes.
Step4
If the item is not worth donating to charity, trash it.
Tips & Warnings
If you can not decide if you want to keep something. Put it in a box and date it. If you have not opened it up and used it within 6 months, get rid of it.
Don't worry about getting things done all at once. If you try to do it to fast you will give up and nothing will get done.
