The grandparent-grandchild relationship is second only to the parent- child relationship in terms of importance. When your grandchild's parents get divorced, there are things you can do to be sure that your relationship with your grandchild is maintained.

    Remind your grandchildren that you love them no matter what happens. Be there to listen and offer support.

  2. Step 2

    As the child's parents adapt to single life, offer your assistance. Ask how you can be of help.

  3. Step 3

  4. Step 4

    If you think it will become difficult to see your grandchild after the divorce, ask to have visitation rights included as part of the divorce agreement.

    When you are unable to visit with your grandchild, stay in touch by phone, email or letters.
