Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
You've got vegetables on the mind. You just love your veggies! You tend to eat lots of vegetables.
Step2
You are worried about Mad Cow Disease. Plus all the other stuff added to meat and poultry, such as hormones, antibiotics, etc.
Step3
You have been informed that you have high blood pressure. Eating a diet rich in veggies and fiber can lower your blood pressure. Meat does NOT do this.
Step4
You have high cholesterol. A vegetarian diet is awesome for treating this. Chicken is high in cholesterol. So is shrimp.
Step5
You feel all warm and gushy when reading about PETA.
Step6
You love cows but don't want to eat them.
Step7
Meat is expensive. I save a ton of money by not buying meat!
Step8
You have been very successful in your vegetable garden. You need to eat all those veggies!
Step9
You decide you just want to be healthy. This is the way to do it.

on 6/16/2008 Well... PETA still gets on my nerves, but a long family history of bad health and short lived hearts is all the reason I need. Fun article to read.

on 3/19/2008 Love this article! In our case, it was because our 11yo son said so! How can one argue with an 11yo that is health conscious and has a big heart for animals. I was more than happy to oblige though. Step 2 was becoming an increasing concern and pushing us in the direction of vegetarianism anyhow!

on 3/16/2008 Step 8 is the main reason for veggie meals. We still eat meat occasionally (especially seafood) but haven't touched cow meat in years.
