Things You'll Need:
- Basket of travel items
- List of activities
- Picnic lunch
-
Step 1
Create a bed-and-breakfast experience. Make your guests feel like they are truly on vacation by creating a haven in their guestroom. Set out a basket on the dresser filled with things they may have forgotten at home: travel toothpaste, toothbrush, travel shampoo and lotion. You may even want to include some snacks for a late-night treat.
-
Step 2
Find out their interests. If they enjoy museums, you may want to take your guests to your local museum. Spend a day at the zoo, or take your guests shopping. If there's something unique in your town, arrange a trip that will include that for your guests. Be creative.
-
Step 3
Plan a day at the park. If the weather is nice, prepare a picnic lunch and take your guests to the park. Contact your local Chamber of Commerce to see if there are any activities in the park that weekend. Many parks are the sites for free plays and festivals.
-
Step 4
Have a dinner party. If your guests have other friends or family in the area, invite everyone over to your house for a dinner party or barbecue. Ask everyone to bring one or two dishes in order to keep costs down, but make sure that you provide the main course.
-
Step 5
Give them options. If you don't know what your guests will be interested in doing, plan several different activities and let them choose. They may just want to spend time with you and opt to stay home instead.
