At any signature event the red carpet is one of the highlights of the evening. But, the red carpet is also known to be one of the most congested areas of most venues. It's essential to your event and your guests that you keep traffic moving toward the event facility.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Create a floor plan layout of the venue. Usually the establishment should provide you with one. It is important to know where everything is in the facility (especially restrooms).

  2. Step 2

Assign stations to each location and room that will be used. For example, there should be a media check-in station, V.I.P. station and red carpet station.

  3. Step 3

There should be areas for each media outlet that is credentialed along the red carpet. If you already have the areas preplanned it eliminates time and confusion and each outlet will know where they need to be.

  4. Step 4

You should have an adequate amount of staff at each location. More staff need to be assigned at the high traffic areas especially, the red carpet to keep things afloat.
