Media buying is very costly. Often companies do not have the means to purchase the necessary advertising to place their businesses at the forefront of communications. The best solution for those in this situation is to develop media partnerships. Here are some techniques that can help you land free advertising.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Create a Media Partnership Agreement. This agreement should include what you expect from the media outlet.

For example, "Pipkins Communications requests that Johnson Media Group provide 15 on-air 30-second PSA's in exchange for 10 VIP tickets to our annual gala and logo inclusion on all collateral materials."

  2. Step 2

Create a list of potential media partners with contact information for Marketing Managers.

  3. Step 3

Send the Media Partnership Agreements to the selected contacts along with information regarding your company and the event that you want the partnership for.

  4. Step 4

Once you have sent the information follow up with each contact to see if they need anything else. Some outlets may request additional information via email or a conference call.
