Planning a wedding can be an extremely stressful event, especially if you are on a tight budget. Read more to learn how to make the most of the money you do have.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

"How to save money on your dress..."

-Check out consignment shops and goodwill stores. Sometimes you can find great bargains.
-Be sure to drop by major department stores, especially during prom season. Lots of prom dresses can double as wedding dresses and many times you can get them on sale after prom.
-Check Ebay and Craigslist. You would be amazed what you can find on the internet.
-Also check out bridesmaids dresses (usually they are much cheaper and you can choose to get them in white or ivory.)

  2. Step 2

"How to save money on preparations..."
Most do it yourself projects are budget friendly.
-Check out places like Michael's, Walmart, Hobby Lobby etc for do it yourself invites (or get really creative and do them all from scratch.)
-If you are sending out Save the Dates consider using email or making a post card (which will cost less to mail.)
-Print your own programs. You can make them as basic or fancy as you want.
-Use bubbles instead of rice or birdseed. You can buy little bubble wands at most craft stores or Walmart. (We used address labels and printed out "Blow bubbles of good wishes for the Mr. & Mrs." on them as well as our date, then stuck them on the wand and put a little ribbon on them. Took about an hour to do 100 and was very cheap)

  3. Step 3

"How to save money the day of the wedding..."

    -Use a friend's back yard

-Look for unknown bands that will play for free advertisement.
-Use MP3 player or cd player instead of a DJ.

    Photos
    -Check craigslist for photograper
-Put up bulletins at your local community college asking for ameatur photographer.
-Provide disposable cameras to your guest and have them take pics then leave the camera with you.

    Flowers
-Go silk (Bouquets and centerpieces can be put together ahead of time and you can keep them forever.)
-Buy real flowers in bulk and do the arrangements yourself.

    Food
-Have a nonalcoholic reception to cut down on the costs.
-Do a potluck dinner and have friends and family bring side dishes and desserts while you provide the chicken, pulled pork, etc.
