  1. Step 1

The 1930s were a time of gangsters and glamour. Many of the films of this period were full of fantasy and adventure, in order to keep the public's mind off of the Great Depression. Some of the films of these genres worth checking out are "Alice in Wonderland" and "The Adventures of Robin Hood."

  2. Step 2

1939 is considered a great year in film history. Don't miss "Gone with the Wind," "Of Mice and Men" and "Wizard of Oz," which were all released in this notable year.

  3. Step 3

Get scared old Hollywood-style! The 1930s were also a memorable decade for monster movies. Grab a tub of popcorn and rent "The Son of Frankenstein," "The Bride of Frakenstein," and "Dracula" for an old-fashioned fright fest.

  4. Step 4

Have a movie marathon in the honor of Jean Harlow, the blonde bombshell was at the peak of her career during the 1930s. Relive the undeniable glamour of the era by watching the sultry Miss Harlow in "Dinner at Eight" and "Platinum Blonde."

  5. Step 5

Romantics won't want to miss "It Happened One Night," starring Clark Gable and Claudette Colbert. Although it was made over 70 decades ago, this film's comedic and romantic charms stand the test of time. This film was the first to win all five major Academy Awards- Best Picture, Director, Actor, Actress, and Screenplay.
