These are a few small tips that lead to big time savings in the office place.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy
Step1
Avoid conflicts and petty disagreements. Don't get dragged down into long email arguments and meetings over how an excel table should look. It is not that important.
Step2
Ask for forgiveness and not permission. Don't go to your manager with every little decision, make it yourself, you will be surprised at how positively your manager reacts to your initiative.
Step3
Take longer to get back to people. 90% of small requests will get solved on their own if you give them an hour or two, you don't have to be everyone's hero.
Step4
Refuse to go to a meeting without an agenda, or at least ask for an agenda. If the meeting strays from the agenda don't be afraid to be bold and ask everyone what is going on. If nothing on the agenda pertains to you ask to be excused.

Tips & Warnings

  • Be bold but courteous. You want to be the person who gets things done and doesn't cling to office drama.
