If you are going for a longer period of time of course you are going to require more equipment. There are certain items that you will need to have with you even for the shortest trips. Above are some things that you should pack and keep in a dry area or package.

It may seem like a lot of items that you need to pack up, but you should always be prepared in case of any emergency. Water sports do posses a certain degree of danger just as well as plenty of excitement and fun. So being prepared every time you head out to kayak is essential for any situation you may be faced with.

There are dry bags that you can buy to place your items in and secure them to make sure they stay dry. Dry bags are made of heavy-duty rubber and other water proof items. They come in different sizes and shapes for all your needs. Your items should be packed and securely fastened to your boat to ensure they will not fall out of your boat.

You should also realize that the way that you pack the items you are taking kayaking with you will have an affect on your boat. So pack in the heaviest items the closest to you. That way your boat will be a bit more stable for you will you are enjoying your kayaking experience. The first time you pack up your kayak it may be a bit difficult, but once you get the hang off it after a few trips it will become easier and easier for you.
