How to Find out if Your Water is Fluoridated

How to find out what is in your tap water such as added chemicals or contaminants.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • internet and web connection
  • water bill and phone

Step1
To find out about your local water supply, head over the the Environmental Protection Agency website. (see resources below for link).
Step2
A map will show up, click on your state.
Step3
There will be 2 options, you can either view your report online. Or get a copy of the report. If you choose to view online, you can then click on your city if it is listed.
Step4
If your city is not listed, you can try contacting your local water supplier. Call the number on the bill you get each month and ask them for a report on what contaminants are in your water, or just ask them if the water is fluoridated.

on 3/26/2008 Thanks for sharing. I noticed in your article about treating hypothyroidism naturally, it is important to avoid fluoride since it blocks iodine absorption. So even if you don't believe in the dangers of fluoride, if you have a thyroid problem, it's good that you can easily find out if your water is fluoridated.

on 3/13/2008 I am so glad we are on a well, as I do believe fluoride is poison. My children have never had fluoride and are healthy, with strong teeth free of cavities. We drink raw milk and take cod liver oil supplements ... the combination works wonders!

on 3/10/2008 Very good article! I'm afraid to find out what's new in our water. The last report I ever seen was nothing short of having toxic waste in it! Very sad.
I was surprised to find out that floride couldn't be boiled out of the water. On a bad day our water smells like sewage. On a good day it smells like chlorine.
