How to get horse to gain his weight

I resue a Throughberd of be strave to die of a bad home . He have no grass or hay in his pasture . Then I got him you can see all his bones I got a vet he say He just need be feed . put we can him ever things. Of weight gain and oats and wheat grem I was about to give up on him . The the farrier said I need get a vet as fast as I can Then I got a vet out there she say he his teeth done so she told to put him on beet puplie and senior feed. she want him gain 100 pounds each month and crash his feed up in warm water . Then when we got him to gain his weight up to 100 pounds.His feet founder .It was so sad when I heard his founder but in three months he got over it and feet start get sore on both his feet . Then I bleach his feet a couple times . Its went away . but I flash do great he weight about 800 pounds his got get gain so more . but he off the senior feed and beet puple and now he on pellets and sweet feed and grem oil. also get alot of hay but I now cook his feed and crash his feed . I if you got a horse that be abuse and neglect don't give up got himorher because I become petty horse and well behave horse . 2. cook his feed in hot water let cool before you crash if up
