1. Be open minded. If someone asks you out on a date, accept it. You never know what you might find out about that person that you didn't already know.

2. Never say no to a friend. If a friend invites you out to a party or event go. You never know who you might meet.

3. Online Dating Services. These services get a bad rap from people who haven't tried them. They are an excellent way to meet people. Many, many people have actually found their husband or wife on these sites. Use well known sites such as match.com, jdate.com and eharmony to get the widest selection. Be realistic and honest. Don't hope to get on there and find a millionaire or a model.

4. Religious groups. Go to these functions. Often you will be surprised to see there are other singles in your group that you have never met before. This is an excellent opportunity to meet people with similar beliefs.

5. Go where the men and women are! Women, go to baseball games where you will find a high concentration of men. Try fishing on a party boat as well or any other place you can think of. Men, spend the day at the mall and bring a friend.

6. Dogs. Believe it or not, people walking dogs tend to talk to each other. Walk your dog (or your friend's dog) in new places like the park or other areas of town that are populated. Be sure to bring plenty of baggies and water for the pooch.

7. Throw a party. Barbecues are a great way to meet people. Invite all your friends and ask that they all bring someone.
