How to listen to Black Metal or Nu Metal....

I am still perplexed with genre of music... I call it "Black Metal" and I have heard of the term Nu Metal... But I will give you descriptions in steps of info and see if you can figure it out....

A LOT of Black Clothing

Step1

To go ahead and start...I am going to give you a list of some Black Metal bands- 1) Disturbed -who sings "Boogie Down with the Sicknes" 2) System of a Down 3) Static X ....You may not have heard of any of these bands but they were popular in th early 2000s and -Linkin Park is another Black Metal group that is just now getting popular but have been around for years...

Black Metal/ Nu Metal can be heard at the store- Hot Topic- all of the time... so the genre of music I am trying to describe could be the Musak of Hot Topic! lol...

Step3

It grows on you. The music is very "new" sounding and definitely fits in with the mainstream with their clean, polished sounds of "metal"... These bands can actually capture the taste of Acid in your mouth...
It is in there own category for sure and I have learned to like it...

on 7/27/2008 You really need to do some research. Black Metal and Nu Metal are two completely different genres. Early Behemoth, Darkthrone, Mayhem, Emperor, that's all Black Metal. None of this Nu Metal ****. And by the way, people should be able to choose if they want to do drugs or not without some dickhead like you telling them otherwise.

on 5/2/2008 Black metal has NOTHING to do with nu metal. Black metal and nu metal are two VERY different and opposing genres of metal. Look them both up in Wikipedia.
