Things You'll Need:
- Plastic hollow eggs
- Small change
- Prizes
-
Step 1
Decide what the prizes will be. Putting some small change in the plastic eggs is probably the easiest way to go. Candy is also a possibility, but do the kids need any more after getting a whole basket full? Other prizes can be for kids who get the most eggs or perhaps there are clues inside the egg that will lead to a grand prize.
-
Step 2
Decide how many eggs. Depending on the size of the group, buy the hollow eggs accordingly. If you have a young group, consider having fewer eggs. It could be a very long hunt if there are 50 eggs and 6 preschoolers, for instance.
-
Step 3
Hide the eggs. Again, depending on how many eggs you hide, enlist another person or two to help with this part of the preparation.
-
Step 4
Keep the hunters at bay. Don’t let the little ones see where you’re hiding the eggs. However, if you do have very young toddlers participating, hide some in plain sight. Make it clear to any older kids that those are off limits for them.
-
Step 5
Let them loose. For some little ones, designate a helper to carry their basket. Always stand by with your camera to snap those priceless moments.
