Easy and fun (?)

If you happen to get an armload of little splinters from fiberglass insulation, etc., you'll soon be itching and you won't be able to see them. But you know they're there!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Elmer's Glue or something similar.
  1. Step 1

Don't scratch! Be patient and find your glue.

  2. Step 2

Gently spread the glue over the splintered area. Let it dry completely; this is when the glue layer gets to "grab" the splinter heads above your skin.

  3. Step 3

Once dry, peel off the glue in one direction. You'll be amazed. If you don't get all of them out, apply the glue again and peel in the opposite direction.

Tips & Warnings
  • This may not work well where you have a lot of hair, but then, if there's enough hair the splinters may not be so bad!

on 9/14/2009 The actual peel that was used was by Freeman Cosmetic Corporation, and it was a "Ginseng Mineral Peel-off Masque."

on 9/14/2009 Instead of using glue, use something more skin-friendly like a facial masque/peel that is already meant for use with skin. I had fiberglass splinters all up and down my arms from a deteriorating kayak paddle, and this worked like a charm to get them out even though there were small/invisible. For best results, use sparing around hair and pull it off along the same grain that the peel is rubbed onto the skin. Don't layer it on too thick.
