How to Play the Harmonica With Your Nose

Sure, anyone can play the harmonica. But can you play it with your nose? You might be surprised! Read on to learn how to play the harmonica with your nose.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A harmonica
  • Basic harmonica skills
  • A reasonably clean nose
  1. Step 1

Practice a simple song on the harmonica with only a few different notes, until you can play it with your eyes closed. Once you can, you are familiar enough with blind playing to try the nose.

  2. Step 2

Be sure your nose is as clean as possible. Use tissues, blow your nose, or even pick if you have to, but make absolutely certain nothing remains up there, or it will end up in your harmonica.

  3. Step 3

Place your left index finger on your left nostril, and hold the harmonica up to your right nostril with your right hand. Your nostril will now act as a tiny mouth, and you can slide the harmonica up and down and play by inhaling or exhaling, just as usual.

  4. Step 4

Be sure to clean the harmonica afterwards, or it will get very disgusting.

Tips & Warnings
  • Some audiences will not appreciate the genius of nose harmonica.
