Besides Yoga, a bath detoxes, rejeuvenates, and relaxes you like nothing else, and it's a better choice for lazier people (a.k.a. over-worked people who doesn't want to move at all). Not only does it reset your engine, it is also extremely therapeutic.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Your choice of essential oil
  • a bath tube
  • a big plushy bath towel
  • a non-drying face mask
  • Vick's vapor rub
  • a stiffer body brush
  • candles
  • music (not necessary)
  • a pair of socks
  1. Step 1

Put away your cell phone and home phone, or put them on silence. Allocate at least 1.5 hours for this, forget the world. Turn off the light, light a candle. Put on the music. Open the window if you have one in the bathroom.

  2. Step 2

Make a tub of warmer water, make sure you didn't shave your body for a day. When the tub is full, add your prefered essential oil in the water.

  3. Step 3

Put up your hair, dry-brush your body from neck down in circular motion when your body is completely dry, you will see all your dead skin shed off, you can go easy if you get yourself a really stiff brush. This is why you can't shave your legs for a day prior to this, it may hurt. Skin on your body is thicker than that on your face, and this will get rid of them and prep them to soak in the benefit of the essential oil, and your skin will be so soft after this.

  4. Step 4

Wash your face, put on a face mask that doesn't require to dry, cause you may be sweating a little in the bath.

  5. Step 5

Slowly get in the tub. Some people like to read when taking a bath, I prefer not to, reading does relaxes me, but there is nothing like closing your eyes and smelling the scented air, but if you can't make yourself stay in the tub for 20 minutes without a book, then read your book.

  6. Step 6

Try to stay in for at least 20 minutes, but not to exceed 40. It takes about 20 minutes for the essential oil to go into your bloodstream. Close your eyes, smell the air, and listen to your music.

  7. Step 7

When you had enough, wrap yourself with the big towel, forget about wiping yourself dry, just wrap yourself in it, almost like how you carry a baby out from the water. Go to lie down in your bed or couch, don't worry about the water, your hair is up and you have a towel around you, you are not dripping. Forget about cleaning up now, let the water stay in the tub, it smells good anyway. Just a little time-out after your warm bath, it will take no time for your body to soak in the rest of the water, and you don't even have to put on body lotion, your body will be so soft and smooth with the essential oil.

  8. Step 8

Wash off your face mask. Rub Vick's vapor rub on the sole of your feet, then put on socks. It decongests your chest and it makes you feel so good.

Tips & Warnings
  • Forget the world for at least 1.5 hours
  • Don't rush
  • Don't do it when you are exhausted, you are better off going straight to bed
  • Allow yourself to go overtime, so don't plan anything immediately after this
  • In picking essential oil, whichever smells good to you is what your body craves for at that moment. If you are a beginner, a combination of Lavender, sage, and orange blosom is a good one to start with.
  • You can easily do research on the internet on benefits of each essential oil, I periodically give myself a lymphatic draining bath. Lymphatic system is super important and it often gets backed up.
  • Test for any allergic reactions to your pick of oil
  • Don't shave for at least a day before this, so when you dry-brush yourself, you can really go for it, and do it right.
  • Do this when you are dirty, you don't want to stay in dirty water
  • Adjust your body-brushing according to your skin type, your skin is supposed to turn pinky with the brushing, but not irritatedly red, use your judgement.
