Thai style omelets are often sliced into thin, flat strips for garnish for soups, rice and noodle dishes. The trick here is not to use too much oil; this will prevent the egg from bubbling up too much and creating puffy strips. Follow these simple steps to prepare the egg.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tbsp. vegetable oil
  • Large saucepan
  1. Step 1

Cover bottom of pan with a very thin layer of oil. If you need to, use a paper napkin or your fingers to spread the oil in a very thin layer.

  2. Step 2

Heat the pan until the oil is hot. Watch carefully so it doesn't burn.

  3. Step 3

Pour beaten eggs into pan and quickly roll pan around so that the eggs are in a very thin layer over the bottom of the pan.

  4. Step 4

Cook over a low flame for about one minute. Do not attempt to flip egg.

  5. Step 5

After one minute, the egg will be cooked through. Remove saucepan from heat, remove egg, slice thinly and serve.
