In most weddings there’s bride, groom, mom, dad, maybe a couple of siblings and cousins. But at some weddings, family doesn’t only come on two legs. Most common would be the doggie ring bearer, though other pets can be incorporated into the festivities. Read on to learn how to have a pet-friendly wedding.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Pick the right location. Outdoors is probably the best case scenario. Just in case nature calls to make a run for it, tear something up or plain old nature calls. Your home would probably work as well, as would a close friend’s home.
Step2
Be sure pets are allowed at your wedding site. Animals will not be allowed in a church, so take that into consideration.
Step3
Don’t forget that your four-legged friend needs some party duds. You could do a animal tux or dress, but you can also keep it simple, perhaps a floral collar.
Step4
Have a run-through. Pets need to have a rehearsal, just as the rest of your wedding party.

Tips & Warnings

  • Some kind of treat in your pocket will likely help your four-legged friend get down the aisle.
