This article will show you how to change a messy diaper fast and effectively without any messes or struggles. As a mother and an early childhood educator I have had years of experience changing diapers and found an easier way of doing things.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Changing pad/table
  • Diaper
  • wipes
  • powder/lotion
  1. Step 1

First be sure the baby is laying safely on a changing table or changing pad. Grab a few wipes and hold them in your hand to warm them.

  2. Step 2

After undressing the baby down to their diaper, get a fresh and clean one and put it under the dirty diaper as if you were going to put the diaper completely on.

  3. Step 3

Undo the dirty diaper and from the top of it (if it isn't dirty on the top as well) do a clean sweep back to get as much of the mess onto the diaper, this saves on wipes as well. Use the wipes that are in your hand to clean the remainder of the mess on baby's buttom.

  4. Step 4

Now fold the dirty diaper closed and pull out and throw away. Now you already have the clean diaper in place and ready to fasten. Before this apply powder or lotion then fasten diaper and you are set.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure you have a clean diaper ready otherwise these quick steps won't be as effective.
  • Never leave a baby unattended even for a second
  • Be prepared that a super messy diaper may add a step to this quick and easy diaper changing method.
