You'll need a few months worth of weekends to try them all. Here are a few to get you started.

Enjoy French toast at the Tower Café. The Tower Café is arguably Sacramento's most famous brunch spot--evidenced by the line snaking out the door and across the sidewalk, rain or shine. Crowds flock here for good reason--namely, the delectable, so-good-but-so-bad-for-you Tower French toast. Other favorites include hearty scrambles (try the Italian one) and breakfast burritos (the chorizo option is an excellent choice). You can get lunch items here as well if you're in the mood for a sandwich or burger. On warm days, sit outside in the lovely terrace area. After brunch, pop over to the attached Tower Theater to see the latest indie film.

Get brunch from a cart at New Canton. The vote is in: New Canton is among Sacramentans favorite dim sum joints, so head on over for the quintessential Chinese brunch. You'll almost always have to wait for a table at this two-story restaurant, but once you're seated you'll find that carts pass frequently carrying delicious dumplings, pork buns and other delicacies. Small and medium plates are just $2 to $3, making this a cheap and delicious destination.

Join the throngs at Fox & Goose Public House. This British pub--an excellent spot for a pint and live music on weekends--boasts a devoted brunch crowd who line up weekly for their fix of bangers, kippers and other British treats. You can also create your own omelet by choosing from the list of 36 ingredients.

Show off your tattoos (if you have them) at Ink Eats & Drinks. This city favorite has large tattoo-inspired artworks all over the walls and ceiling, and they've earned their reputation as a late-night favorite. But you can enjoy this hip joint in the mornings, too, when they break out the brunch menu and a make-your-own Bloody Mary bar.

Get a little Gold Rush glitz at the Rio City Café. With its prime location overlooking the Sacramento River and its proximity to the wooden-walkway haven of Old Sacramento, you can get a little history along with your brunch. Or just a whole lot of champagne. On Saturdays and Sundays, an extra $8.95 added to the price of your breakfast gets you unlimited--that's right, unlimited-champagne refills.
