Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Things You’ll Need:
- A invitation list. May I recommend only inviting up to 6 preschoolers from your child's class. This is the first step in making it a less stressful party.
- Theme ideas like if its for a boy a spiderman party or princess party for a girl.
- Party budget, you don't need to break the bank with this, refer to the article for details.
- Location: If its a summer birthday do it at a park, if its cold outside maybe do it at Chuck E.Cheese where there is an indoor playground.
- Make sure you have all the party supplies like napkins, plates, napkins, spoons, forks, cups.
- Make sure there are arrangements made for the type of food you will be having whether catered or homemade.
- Party favors
- Cake and Ice cream
- If there is no park for the children to run around at be sure that you have some fun entertainment for the children to enjoy like crazy music and movement, treasure hunt, games, maybe even a moon boun
Step1
After you have what type of party you want to give your child start planning the order of the party.
Step2
When the children arrive be sure you have an activity for them to do like maybe decorating a placemat before they eat or letting them run around on the playground or moon bounce if this is available.
Step3
After all the children have arrived, guide the children over to their placemats to eat, if you are doing a lunch or dinner before cake and ice cream. Have someone help you serve the children, this will be less chaotic than letting the kids get their own food.
Step4
When they are all finished eating and free playing, Gather them all together to do the activities and games you had planned like a treasure hunt, balloon stomp is fun with this age group. This is where you fill balloons with candy (before the party) and blow them up. Scatter them all over outside (if it's not windy) and have them stomp as many balloons as they can to get the candy out of the balloons. Have the children put the candy in their party bags.
Step5
After all the activities are finished, round the kids up to sing happy birthday. Serve the cake and ice cream.
Step6
After cake and ice cream, have each child grab the present that they brought and let them present it to the birthday boy/girl to open. This moves things a long quickly and the children enjoy it being done this way.
Step7
When the presents are finished being opened, let the children be free to do what they want as far as playing on the moon bounce or playground. After all the sugar you don't want to have anything planned so be sure that cake and ice cream is towards the end of your major planning.
Step8
After all the kids have left you can take a deep breath, it's over and you will realize that it wasn't as stressful as you thought it was going to be. If you have anymore detailed questions I would be happy to answer. I am a preschool teacher and a mother of a preschooler. I have planned many parties and have a small side business being a preschool party DJ.
