Things You'll Need:
- A wedding planner or help planning the wedding
- Unique, Hollywood-themed decorations
- A red carpet with velvet ropes
- Silver stars and tinsel
- A manageable guest list
- Knowledge of your budget
-
Step 1
Decide where you'd like to host your Hollywood-themed wedding. A great idea would be to hold the ceremony in a convention room, while the reception is held down the hall in a party room. By joining both the ceremony and reception in one location, it makes achieving your theme much easier.
-
Step 2
Create a makeshift red carpet to escort guests from the ceremony hall to the reception room. Set up velvet ropes and hire photographers to snap shots of your guests heading down the red carpet when the ceremony is concluded. Not only will you get some fun, candid shots, your guests will feel like movie stars.
-
Step 3
Decorate your reception hall with lots of tinsel and silver stars. Nothing spells out "Hollywood" like an "all that glitters" setting. On each table, make movie memorabilia centerpieces. Some great ideas are movie postcards, film reels, and gold stars.
-
Step 4
Hold a little mock Oscars ceremony at the reception. Hand out little trophies for "Best Friend," "Best In-Law" and "Best Go-To In a Crisis." This is not only fun, but your guests will feel appreciated.
-
Step 5
Have a DJ play movie music. Nothing spells out romance more than theme songs from movies like "Titanic," "Casablanca," "Gone With the Wind" and "An Officer and a Gentleman."
-
Step 6
Serve celebrity-inspired cuisine. Serve filet mignon, sushi, lobster, champagne, caviar and red velvet cake. The better your guests eat, the more they'll feel like stars.
-
Step 7
What Hollywood-themed wedding would be complete without a goody bag? Every awards show ends with celebs receiving upscale goody bags, so do the same for your guests. Include a thank you note and a personalized photo of you and your bride or groom.
