This how to, i wrote to help all expatriate / foreigner who working in Malaysia to apply and get their Expatriate Card (i-card). To apply Expatriate Card in Malaysia is very easy. It just take 20 minute process. So quick isn’t it?

Things You’ll Need:

  • Your passport
  • Your 1 photo passport

Step1
Malaysia Immigration Office Then where do i need to go? You should go to Malaysia Immigration at Putra Jaya to get this Expatriate Card.
Step2
Kuala Lumpur LRT, Monorail Map How to go there? Its easy, if you familiar with LRT in Malaysia, just take the train, you can use either Star LRT or KTM Komuter,
then take direction to Tasik Selatan Station (see the map above for no 1). Stop there, then take KLIA Transit KRL then stop at Putra Jaya Station (see the map above for no 2). The KLIA Transit KRL cost you RM5.30 ( approx. USD $1.5) each person.
Step3
Queue Taxi at Putra Jaya Station RL KLIA Transit Train common used for going to KL International Airport. Its a very fast Train in Malaysia and very cozy. After you reach Putra Jaya Station ( its about 15-20 minute from Salak Selatan using KLIA Transit KRL ), just take a taxi to Malaysia Immigration Office, its quite near also, approx 15 minute take the cab ). The taxi just cost you another RM7 (USD$1.9). You should buy the taxi ticket first.
Step4
i-Card queue ticket About 15 minute later, you’ll reach Malaysia Immigration Office, the taxi will stop right in front of the Immigration Office. You stop there, walk down then step into the Office. Just go straight, find the elevator, go to the 3rd floor. On the 3rd floor, grab the ticket again to queue (choose the i-card option). After your number has been called, the officer will ask your passport and your passport photo 1 peace. Then he/she will ask you to wait. Just about 15 minute. After that, you will have your Expatriate Card.
